First light out my window.
It is a huge shock here to find out the NZ prime minister has resigned. No doubt there is more to that story than meets the eye! Most of the kiwis on board seem to have heard pretty quickly. The demographics here are interesting, a good mix of people from every where and so it makes for some interesting conversations. Went for a deck walk on the lower deck, a bit windy up top and more peaceful. A bit scared of getting burnt again, so I'm better under cover. The sea is flat, for the Coral sea at this time of year, very pleasant cruising.
They had a tasting wines of the word session this afternoon, very pleasant.
Also bought a watch as I had left mine behind. The live entertainment is very good, last night's show was Chris Powley, a Maori entertainer and a superb singer, but the jokes were a bit naff. He sounded very like Howard Morrison, and could take off a lot of singers rather well.
We have a table of 10 for dinner, a very interesting group of people.
who can carry on an intelligent conversation.
There are a couple from Hamilton, and he got the cruise as a retirement present, gratis. They are first time cruisers. We have a man from Utrecht, who works for the university there. The rest are Australians, although two are kiwis living on the Gold Coast. The Christmas theme is very evident around the ship. I haven't visited every where yet, but there is no rush. I notice the odd white cap appearing, the wind is picking up from the east, so I am on the leeward side of the ship, and it is pleasantly warm. Tomorrow is the Isle of pines, New Caledonia, the one place on this trip I haven't been to before. Tonight in the theatre is a dance show.
Got back to find small animal made from a flannel, very cute!
