day 4, The isle of pines

Well last night was interesting,  I went for a walk around the top deck after the show, and on the starboard side it was so windy I struggled to stand up.  It was not cold, just a really strong wind. The tell us the temp was 22, but it felt more like 30 ashore,  and the wind was welcome in such a hot temperature. Not surprising in the coral sea.
Early this morning about 4 am we passed by Noumea,  I could see the lights, I suspect we picked up a pilot to come on to the Isle of pines. Not enough light at that stage, but the first light photo is of the last southern bit of mainland New Caledonia.

This was around 4 am,  sunrise was just before 5 am.

I guess we would be the same without daylight savings.

The first view of the Isle of pines

Lowering the tender outside of my window
The view across the bay from the tender
 Going in on the tender
The crystal clear water with the Radiance of the seas in the background
Looking at the pines the island was named for.
Wild bougainvillea growing on the side of the road

More flowering trees on the side of the road

 The road to the beach
 A structure from when?
The beach, beautiful white sand, stunning
Sat under the shade of a palm for a time

Went for a paddle, delightful clear water,  warm as., many were swimming.
The tender arriving from the beach

Going back on the tender
View back to the beach, just as reboarding the ship
 Back in my cabin
Went for a spa, but it was a bit hot, so then went for a swim in the pool, very warm, but really great. There weren't too many people around as most were still ashore
