A delightful day, although a little warm. It is around 29 degrees out on the deck. I have been for an early spa and swim in the solarium, safer as I don't get sunburned, been to a worship service and walked around the ship. The sea is amazingly calm. We are passing through many of Fiji's outer islands to the west, and they appear on the horizon. We have crossed what should be the international date line as we are now 179 degrees west, before it was measured in degrees east. In Lautoka we got as far as 17 degrees south the northernmost point on the trip so far. The reason it is still Sunday and not Saturday is that the dateline does a kink around Tonga, it was changed during the 2000 millennium.
The lift today
A grainy picture of those in the colony club 10 mins before the service. About 200 attended
The ships wake, taken from the colony club.
Looking backwards from deck 6. During my walk on deck 5, I went on the heli deck, right at the front of the ship, and stood at the very point of the bow.
I meet the same group of people each night for dinner, and we always have an interesting conversation. There are a couple from Hamilton (Janette and Philip), a couple from Canberra (Les and Shirley), a couple from Northern New South Wales (Janice and Allan), a couple from the Gold Coast, but original from Sunny nook (Colleen and Frank), and Martin from Utrecht. So mostly the same 10 meet each night, although sometimes there are only 8 as Janette and Phillip like to sometimes go to the specialty restaurants.
It's always nice to bump into them at other times also and compare what we are all going.
Yesterday a dog
And today a seated rabbit, very clever.
I had something happen today, I had a visit from one of the senior crew asking if everything was ok with my cabin, I said yes it was, apparently he was inspecting the work of my cabin girl, Jhosophine, who does a wonderful job. (Yes that spelling is actually correct)
