Day 8, A day in Lautoka

Early this morning about 5.30am we were in the middle of a very impressive electrical storm, and the whole sky was lit up many times. Sleep was impossible at that point so I got up and waited for breakfast to arrive.
I went out, and it was a pleasant change from Suva, the locals are genuinely friendly,  not trying to mob rush you. I WA
Ked out to the outskirts of the port to take photos, but it was the morning rush hour, so I had to be a bit careful. In fact the town is just around the corner. It is dominated go the huge sugar mill that has been here since colonial times . At anchor in the bay is the sort of ships you see anchored at Chelsea.  The second largest town in Fiji, and way more pleasant than Suva.

First light, first view of western Fiji, still haven't cleaned that porthole!
This is a fully working port
